The Country Director is responsible as the Chairman of Executive Board for leading Yayasan Inisiatif Dagang Hijau (YIDH) in Indonesia, delivering a positive impact for farmers, sustainable agriculture, and forest protection, as part of an international organisation and in pursuit of IDH’s mission to transform markets. You are accountable for YIDH performance, its delivery against budget, staff wellbeing and external relationships with business, government, and civil society, working in compliance with national law and IDH’s international rules and regulations by forging new partnerships and program development in alignment with MYP 2025 and 2030 strategy and represent YIDH – IDH’s engagements in-country.
YIDH, a grantee of IDH Sustainable Trade Initiative (“IDH”) in Indonesia are supported by a team of 23 people. The programs are situated in several regions of Indonesia: West-Kalimantan, North Sumatra, and Papua as well as at national level. You are responsible for an annual budget of approximately €5 m. You will be reporting to the YIDH – YIDH Supervisory Board and IDH the Netherlands.

Fundraising & Partnerships. In coordination with the IDH global team (IPF), develop partnerships, identify fundraising opportunities for projects that fit within Program Clusters, contribute to MYP RMF KPI’s, fill budget gaps, and lead the development of fundraising proposals approved by the global IPF team.

Operations: Oversee country operations including HR, legal compliance, financial management and administration, acting in accordance with the guidelines provided by the main donor, IDH Corporate HQ (based in The Netherlands) and staff health and safety. Safety and Security:Ensure implementation and execution of the Safety and Security Policy. This Policy includes the responsibilities of both the Country Office and its staff, and the security levels to be used as travel guidance and for risk assessment
Global responsibilities:Represent the Country Office represent YIDH at the IDH Global Leadership Team and Country Leaders meetings, as well as in regional/global meetings where the Indonesia program is featured.

What you bring
